Equipment

The second 917 10. Ex Siffert Kauhsen, raced successfully by Siffert in the 1971 Can Am, then by Kauhsen in the 1972 InterSerie until crashed at Nurburgring. Restored for Kauhsen in 1999 to 71 Can Am configuration with modern OMP fire system. Good paint but otherwise seems original and neglected and it has not been liveried accurately to 71 Can Am appearance. Late addition, cataloged only in a supplement.

Market commentary

Maybe the cars appearance is intentionally like new, however it doesnt inspire confidence in its restoration, preparation and maintenance. Desultory bidding resulted in this modest high bid.
