Condition
Excellent repaint in original Fathom Blue. Lightly scuffed brightwork. The engine and underbody are restored to like new. The interior has little wear. Upgraded to LS6 during restoration with a 'numbers-matching' stamp on the block. An expertly restored example of Chevrolet's top muscle car for 1970 that's done 381 miles since being finished.
Market commentary
What we don't know is how this Chevelle started out, although it is in the scheme of things unlikely to have been with a big block. It was sold at Mecum's Indy auction in 2013 for $88,275, then stumbled to a $50,000 bid at Kissimmee in 2014 and recovered slightly here on the basis of a superior presentation. It would have been a better buy for less money (but then, what wouldn't?), just pity the guy who paid $88 Large for it.
