Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome spoke outside laced Borranis, no radio. Built for Briggs S. Cunningham. Quality older restoration showing some age. Paint blisters on trunk lid and defects around engine, dusty underhood, but otherwise nearly like new. Described by Frank Palmer as the fastest of the 5000 GTs we have. Alfredo Brener collection.

Market commentary

The sloped fender protruding grille styling, like most Michelotti products of the era, isnt to everyones taste but the history of this car makes it one of the most desirable 5000 GTs after the two carbureted cars. Owning the personal ride of Briggs Cunningham is worth the price paid alone; having his personal 5000 GT is even better.
