Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Rollbar, side exhaust exit, driving lights, no bumpers.

Condition

Worn original interior, fair repaint. A letter from Alfred Neubauer states it was used for 300SL development in 1955 then provided to Stirling Moss for the 1957 Tour de France. Displayed for some time and needing both thorough mechanical service and more definition of its TdF history. Max Lips Collection.

Market commentary

This is a fair price for a decent Gullwing, even one in need of work, and the buyer is safely insulated, with a handsome upside potential if the Moss Tour de France history can be further substantiated.
