Equipment
6 cylinder, 3 speed. Export car restored in 1989 as the 1954 Carrera Panamericana car driven by Americo and Marcello Guizzini, finishing 71st overall and 45th in class. Competently restored with roll bars, big fuel tank in back seat, modern accessory engine gauges, 4 point belts for the bench seat, 7.10x15 tires. Rust bubbles in left sill and paint is only fair but otherwise shows little use and only expected age.
Market commentary
Trouble is, nothing conclusively demonstrates this actually was the Guizzinis car ... or any other Mexican Road Race car for that matter. The owner professed to know little of its history before he bought it in its present condition. As a replica, offered on Auburn Friday, this is a fair, if parsimonious, offer. It would be a decent buy at $10,000 or so, if only for its restoration and value as a high speed tour car.
