Equipment
Chrome wire wheels, dual sidemounts, dual remote spotlights, Pilot Rays. Body built in the late Thirties by Walton Body Shop in Denver for the first owner of J507 2536, Harry G. Liebhardt, a factory built SJ. Body later installed on a chassis of unknown origin with this engine by Bill Craig. Next owner Rick Carroll had Bob Gassoway reshape the body to a design by former Duesenberg employee Herb Newport but sold it to Raymond Lutgert during restoration. Supercharger fitted at an unknown time, but is not original. Restoration completed in 1977. Later owned (twice) by Richard and Linda Kughn who sold it to Gene Ponder in 2003. CCCA Modified Classic, ACD Level Two Rebodied. A sound and presentable old restoration, maintained and serviced but not refreshed since 1977. No Reserve.
Market commentary
Lets see. This is not the original body, nor even as it looked when it was built in Denver in the Thirties. The frames origin is unknown and bears 2159 only by association with the engine. The engine wasnt built as an SJ and no one today knows where, when or by whom the blower was added. The restoration itself is thirty years old. That is hardly the recipe for spending two thirds of a million dollars wisely.
