Equipment
RHD. Ducellier lights, dual windshields, dual chain drive, brass fittings. Brilliant cosmetics. A spectacular restoration to the highest standards. Some age and limited use is evident upon a close look but the overall presentation is so stunning it is impossible to focus on minor flaws. This is a wonderful automobile. It started life as something different for G.Henry Stetson (hats) and apparently got a Cape Top touring body in 1922. There is an unverifiable story that a skiff body was in the later 50s associated with the chassis but this one is meticulously built to replicate a Labourdette skiff of the period and nothing else, a qualification which does nothing at all to detract from its effect. A wonderful automobile of the highest quality with awards from just about everywhere worth going.
Market commentary
This is a very neat car. Period. Thats it. The body may be made up but that hardly detracts from its style and flair. It will always be a special car and it is rare (as well as pretty exciting to drive.) The fact that this Mercedes is valued the same as a Hemi Cuda is an anomaly of the times.
