Equipment
Characteristic weird looking Lanchester with the engine next to the driver. Body moved to new Austin 16 by first owner in 1939. Austin left to chauffeur in 1943 who telegraphed chassis owner: Mrs H.J. dead: body now for sale, and reunited with original chassis. Older restoration, long displayed and shows both use and age. Needs attention, not restoration, however.
Market commentary
1910 28hp with similar body brought $71,500 at Hershey six weeks ago in much better overall condition, but without the story of Mrs. H.J. which will probably be repeated often enough to make the premium worthwhile.
