Say goodbye to parade laps. This is Flat Out, which means you’re about to get a taste of your favorite classic cars being pushed to their limits. All it takes is a worthy ride, an open track, and a driver willing to test his or her mettle at the ragged edge.

Although not as widely beloved as the 12-cylinder Countach, this week’s 1985 Lamborghini Jalpa is no less of a bullish beast. One of just 410 ever produced, the Jalpa’s DOHC V-8 wail and gated five-speed manual gearbox provide a unique taste of 1980s Italian exotica. Owned by former racing driver and Audi Club of North America president Mike Fisher, this Jalpa gets its first-ever track workout in some very capable hands.
