My automotive origin story actually begins with boats. Tinkering with vintage Mercury outboard motors for my 11-foot hydroplane ignited my passion for internal combustion engines, eventually leading me down the path to enthusiast vehicle ownership. The rumors, renderings and mystery leading up to the launch of the 6th-generation Corvette captured all of my attention as an early teenager, hardwiring a love for America's sports car into my adolescent brain. When C5s began hitting bargain-basement prices in 2017, it was only a matter of time before I'd have one in my garage. And as it turns out, modified green Corvettes are cheap when there's snow on the ground.
