For the first time ever Sam Porter, CEO of Spectacular structures, Microbrew & Music Festival, and Porterhouse Productions, arranged an impressive car show in Williamsburg, Mich., to bring cool cars, good eats and upbeat rockabilly tunes to the area. Held at the Flintfields Horse Park on Aug. 9 at 3 p.m., the unique event featured classic cars alongside their owners in a concert-like event reminiscent of a classic drive-in theatre. It didn’t feel like your traditional car show; the setting was relaxed, giving off a vibe more like a reunion of long lost friends. Curbie, the 1946 Ford Flathead V-8 ice cream truck, was also in attendance to bring mouth-watering grilled goodies, quality ice cream treats and root beer floats while local breweries and wineries set up booth to offer their most prized selections. By 5 p.m., the event was accompanied by four hours of hip-swingin’ tunes from The Corvairs, Delilah DeWylde & The Lost Boys, and then wrapped up by Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. Will this become an annual event? Well, it is entirely possible and we sure hope so!
