Get Your Kicks: Follow along on our Route 66 Retro Road Trip

Of all the bucket list staples for classic car enthusiasts, a road trip on historic Route 66 – The Mother Road – has to rank near the top.

Starting tomorrow, a team of six, including Autoweek’s Rory Carroll, will set off on the Hagerty Route 66 Retro Road trip, a 2,000-mile trek from Flagstaff to St. Louis then all the way up to Traverse City, Mich., in two 1970s sports cars.

In a nod to these cars from the Disco Era, the team will be making the trip in low-tech ’70s style, complete with maps and travel guides from the decade. We’re leaving behind the GPS and inviting you to follow our progress, and we’d love to hear your suggestions for where the team should stop and what they should do while they’re on the road.
