Holiday horsepower: Ugly Hemi sweater or Redeye Hellcrate?

Unfortunately, there won’t be any holiday parties this year for most of us (COVID strikes again). Thankfully, we still have Zoom and FaceTime, handy video aids that are more than capable of keeping that ugly sweater tradition alive.

Hagerty offers an automotive-themed sweater in The Shop, of course (OK, more than one), and there are plenty of others out there, too. But one from Fiat Chrysler caught our eye because it’s both frightening and, at the same time, fantastic. Included among FCA’s holiday gift ideas, the Mopar-themed knit sweater pictures a classic HEMI V-8 engine on the front and “Do you hear what I hear” on the back. No those are not sleigh bells, they’re slay bells.

The sweater carries a price tag of $44.95, which is slightly less taxing on your budget than several other items on FCA’s list … like a Hellcrate Redeye 6.2-liter Supercharged HEMI V-8 engine for $21,807.

Before you laugh, here’s your sales pitch: that muscled-up mill pumps out 807 horsepower and 717 lb.-ft. of torque—and you can use it all year long.
