Graph of the Week: The 10 Most Searched Cars on Hagerty Valuation Tools

Last week, the most searched cars on Hagerty Valuation Tools (HVT) were all Fords and Chevrolets and all but two were either a Mustang or a Camaro. These are some of the most popularly owned years of some of the most popularly owned models for enthusiasts, so while high-dollar cars break records and make headlines, the core of the classic car hobby is made up of cars like these and that’s why people remain interested in their values. 1960s Ferraris may get a lot of attention, but relatively few people have a vested interest in their values. Thousands and thousands of people, on the other hand, are owning, restoring, buying and selling vintage Mustangs and Camaros across North America. The sheer number of examples that are changing hands keeps people checking.

Many of the rest of the most searched cars on HVT are similar mass-market domestics. By comparison, the most searched Porsche last week was the 1989 911, which had 563 views and was the fourteenth most searched car overall. The 1967 Jaguar E-Type, meanwhile, had 224 views. Even with the frequent talk about Porsches, then, the Mustangs and Camaros garner the most interest, and it’s unlikely that any shifts are going to unseat these cars in the future.
