MERCURY: 1969 Cyclone Spoiler II, red and white, Cale Yarborough edition, all stock, needs restoration, comes with new fenders and complete stripe kit, $2,000

NASCAR fans all know too well the aero wars being waged between Ford and Mopar in the late ’60s. For Ford, the 1969 Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II were the ultimate aerodynamic cars before NASCAR banned special aero cars at the end of the 1970 season. While the Cyclone advertised here needed restoration, it represented the opportunity to pick up a cool homogation car at a big discount. Granted, it wouldn’t carry the value of the Ford Talladega, but you’d have a better conversation piece.
