In 1982, $8,500 wasn’t a small amount of cash. In fact, the asking price for this restored Abarth 750 GT was $200 more than the sticker  price of a brand new Pontiac Firebird with the optional V-8. Of course, the Firebird relied  more on the size of its decals than any actual sporting credentials. Along with rarity, that’s why the Abarth sells for 15 times  what the Pontiac  does today.
