Hagerty’s Search for America’s ‘Sweetest LeMon’

The Hagerty selection panel has chosen the top 10 contenders for “America’s Sweetest LeMon.” The top vote-getter will receive an all-expense-paid trip for themselves and their vehicle to Monterey, Calif., for the 2011 Concours d’LeMons.  Actual email submissions and photos from contestants are below. Rules and Regulations

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.  A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE CHANCES OF WINNING.

Eligibility – This promotion is open to legal residents of the 50 United States (including the District of Columbia) or one of the following Canadian provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador (“participating Canadian provinces”). This promotion is void outside the 50 United States and the participating Canadian provinces, and wherever prohibited or restricted by law within the 50 United States and the participating Canadian provinces. Employees of Hagerty Insurance Agency, LLC and its affiliates and related entities (“Hagerty”), and members of their immediate families (spouses, parents, children, and siblings and their spouses) are not eligible to enter or win.  Entrants must be 21 years of age or older, and must have a valid driver’s license.

How to Enter – To enter, email a photo of you and your car to sweetestlemon@hagerty.com along with  an explanation, in 250 words or fewer, of why you and your car should be honored at the 2011 Concours D’LeMons – why should your car be named “America’s Sweetest LeMon”?  All entries must be received by or before 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, July 24, 2011, to be eligible to win.  You are responsible for informing Hagerty of any changes to your email address or other contact information that may occur after submission. 

Entries – Limit one entry per person. Multiple entries submitted by a single entrant are void.  All entries become the property of Hagerty. Hagerty is not responsible for events that may result in an entrant’s ineligibility to claim or win a prize, including but not limited to: inaccurate transcription of entry information; any human error or omission; technical, computer, telephone or telecommunications system malfunctions; lost or delayed data transmissions; other errors or malfunctions; or late, lost, incomplete, deleted or misdirected entries.  Hagerty is not responsible for any virus, bugs, unauthorized human interventions, or other causes beyond Hagerty’s reasonable control that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of the promotion. Hagerty reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this promotion should causes beyond Hagerty’s control corrupt the administration, security, or proper play of the promotion. Decisions made by Hagerty are final and binding in all matters.

Prize – One trip for winning car and owner to Monterey, California for the 2011 Concours D’LeMons will be given away. The trip will be from Thursday, August 18, 2011, through Sunday, August 21, 2011. This prize is worth approximately five thousand dollars ($5000) and includes airfare, hotel accommodations, car transportation, event tickets and a small per diem. 

The top ten (10) entrants will be chosen by a panel of Hagerty judges based upon the following criteria: (1) uniqueness and personality of car and owner; (2) car condition (cars should be able to lead the Concours D’LeMon tour with no problems; and (3) distinctiveness and appeal of owner’s story. The top ten (10) entrants will then be posted on Hagerty.com for a public vote based on the criteria listed above.  Voting will open at 9 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, and will remain open until midnight EDT on Sunday, July 31, 2011. The car and owner with the most votes wins.  All voting results are final.  If the potential winner is a resident of Canada, he/she must first correctly answer an arithmetical skill testing question before being confirmed as the winner. The winner will be announced by or before the week of August 1, 2011. 

All federal, state, provincial and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.  Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either expressed or implied, by Hagerty.  Winner may not substitute, assign or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash, but Hagerty reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute a prize with one of comparable or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason.  Winner must notify Hagerty by Monday, August 15, 2011, as to whether the prize will be accepted.   Dates of the trip are non-negotiable.  If winner is unable to accept the prize, the trip will be offered to the entrant with the next highest number of votes. Requests for special accommodations, including wheelchair access, visual or audible aides, or any other necessary accommodations, should be made to Hagerty as soon as possible.

Odds of Winning – Odds of winning depends upon the number of eligible entries received.

Requirements – By participating, all entrants agree to be bound by these rules.  By entering this contest and/or accepting the prize, entrant agrees to Hagerty’s use of his or her name, city of residence, photograph, video, and/or likeness for advertising and/or trade purposes without further permission or compensation, unless prohibited by law.  Entrants and/or winner may also be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability and Publicity Release. Noncompliance may result in disqualification and award of the prize to an alternate winner.

Limitation of Liability – Entrants, including winner, agree not to institute any claim against, and to release and hold harmless Hagerty and its owners, officers, directors, employees, agents or representatives from any and all liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, costs, taxes, expenses, emotional distress or damages of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in this promotion or the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize and/or the participation in, travel to or from, or attendance at any Contest prize activity, unless resulting from Hagerty’s gross negligence or willful misconduct. Entrants also waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys’ fees and costs.
