Market commentary
The number of 911 variants can be confusing. That Porsche recycles the same few combinations of letters and numbers over and over for its model names doesn't help things, either. But the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0, built only in 2011-12, really is one of the best-regarded Porsche road cars of this century. Even when it came out nearly 15 years ago, pundits were calling it a future collectible despite its steep $180K MSRP, and recent sales have been proving them right. So far in 2025, three of these 4.0 cars have sold for over a million dollars.
