Market commentary
People are starting to realize that still-in-the-wrapping Ford GTs aren't all that special, and it's almost more interesting to see one that's at least covered a little bit of ground. Prices for these cars also aren't climbing anymore, partly because of this realization. This car was lucky to have this much offered with the 2004 prototype hogging most of the attention, and it probably should have seen the car go to a new home. It's been peddled since Mecum's Dallas auction last September (bid to $335,000) and at Kissimmee in January (bid to $350,000.) It's not getting any better and it's time to recognized collectors' collective judgment of its worth.
