Equipment
RHD. 2.6/275hp twin-turbo, 5-speed, BBS alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, HICAS all-wheel steering, original cassette, books, tools.
Condition
Formerly owned by Bruce Canepa. Showing 35,369 km but looks like a car with fewer and, more importantly, it has no notable mods. Recently detailed to high standards and looks like it’s three years old, not 30.
Market commentary
The V-Spec (“Victory Specification) GT-R celebrated Godzilla’s success in Group N and Group A racing, and for 1993 added Brembo brakes, upgraded all-wheel drive system, aluminum hood, BBS wheels and front bumper from the NISMO R32. A “V-Spec II” arrived in 1994 with wider tires, and about 3000 total were built of both versions out of a total R32 GT-R production run of nearly 44,000. Low six figures for a clean, unmodified one is now the going rate, and this one got a strong on-market result in Indy. It’s even a bit of a surprise that it sold so well given the venue. A RHD Nissan at the Indiana State Fairgrounds was about as unusual a sight as a salad, but the bidders still recognized it for the JDM royalty that it is.
