Equipment
6.0-liter V-16, 5-speed manual, Brembo cross-drilled brakes.
Condition
The first of only about 10 Cizetas built, and the only one badged as a Cizeta-Moroder since it was built before Giorgio Moroder pulled out of the project. Shown at the 1989 Los Angeles and Geneva Motor Shows and retained by Moroder since. Full mechanical restoration by Canepa Design in 2018. Included with the car is an NFT with a four-track music EP by Moroder, a 3-D artist rendering of the car, a 3-D scan of the car, and “digitized provenance documentation.” No serious flaws to speak of, and the restorative work by Canepa is reassuring. Plus, if you’re after one of these oddball exotics, the first one built would be the one to want, wouldn’t it?
Market commentary
Famous in its time and housing a powerplant that is something of an epic accomplishment as well as a cab-forward design recalling the F1 cars of the period, this result is a tribute to the lingering memory of this car’s announcement. The NFT adds nothing.
