Equipment
Air conditioning, moonroof, aftermarket CD stereo, power windows.
Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Minor chips and scratches on original paint. The engine compartment is aged and filthy, as is the underbody. The interior is in surprisingly good condition and only the driver's seat has noticeable wear and stretching. Showing 213,658 miles, this car probably doesn't have a whole lot of life left in it mechanically, but everything is complete and it's fully documented. If you wanted a 190 Cosworth to restore, this wouldn't be a bad choice.
Market commentary
The 190E Cosworth has gained recent appreciation as a worthy alternative to the increasingly expensive BMW E30 M3, but they remain much more affordable by comparison. It probably would have been more economical for the buyer here to hold out for a more well preserved car, but he got a fixer-upper at a cheap price and the seller had no misconceptions about the car and wisely let it go. It was sold at Branson Fall in 2009 for $7,884 and is an no-profit zone.
