Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Becker Mexico cassette, 5 spoke alloy wheels. Good paint and interior, no chrome to speak of. One of a kind 4 seat convertible built by Scaglietti to test composite materials for the chassis. Fiberglass body. 400i engine and 5 speed gearbox, Mondial suspension. Sound paint, lovely interior. Bought by Garrison directly from the factory. Greg Garrison Collection. No Reserve.

Market commentary

This may be one of the most important Ferraris in the Garrison collection since it demonstrated the viability of composite materials in long term use in road cars. Weighing only 3100 pounds, its performance should be exemplary. The buyer got a singularly significant one off Ferrari for a very reasonable price. Its history and provenance are absolutely clear. This is an astute acquisition, even well over the high estimate.
