Equipment
Power steering, power brakes, factory steel wheels, auxiliary fuel tank, aftermarket AM/FM CD stereo, rear-mounted spare, bucket seats.
Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Amateur paint job with orange peel throughout. Small rust spot starting on the hood. Reproduction bumpers, otherwise lightly aged original brightwork. Underbody and chassis are cleaned and undercoated. Mostly original under the hood with light clean up and maintenance. Factory carburetor has been replaced. Interior is unrestored, but clean, free of any rips or tears. Restored to truck standards and no telling if the 302 V-8 under the hood is the engine it left the factory with.
Market commentary
Restored Broncos are often done to high standards, but this example missed the mark on many things and if there was money close to the reported high bid, there's no reason for the owner not to gladly take it. A Bronco may challenge the Rubicon Trail with nearly the aplomb of a Toyota FJ but it doesn't have the same cachet in the parking lot at Whole Foods; not even close. This was all the money and the consignor missed the chance.
