Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
From the Smoky Mountain Museum Collection. Originally owned by David Akeman aka 'Stringbean' from the Grand Ole Opry. Well cared for, probably original paint with no major flaws. Chrome is polished and bright but it does have some scratches. Vinyl roof is clean with no bubbling. Interior is clean and well cared for, but the carpet is faded and driver's door pad is dirty. Underbody is aged but clean, as is the engine bay. There's no telling how long it was in the museum, but it shows just 2,646 miles and looks like a very lightly used but 40-year-old car.
Market commentary
$10,000 for the car, another $10,000 for the originality and $4,000 for 'Stringbean'? In any event this is a result price that pays a lot for originality.
