Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Chrome spoke Borranis, Black side stripe, P W, A C, no radio. Popup lights, painted nose panel. Acquired by Greg Garrison directly from Ferrari, the last Daytona Spyder built, for $17,000. It now has 80 miles showing on its odometer, essentially all of them accumulated on Greg Garrisons driveway. New, unused and like new. Started periodically to keep it limber and circulate the fluids. Greg Garrison Collection. No Reserve.

Market commentary

It was clear that the bidders in the Gooding & Company tent were waiting for the Daytona Spyder to come across the block and they pounced on it with purpose, driving the bidding right through the already generous estimate and into the stratosphere. There will never be another opportunity like this and this is what it took to beat off the other suitors.
