Equipment
AMC wheels, Cooper Cobra GTS tires, power steering, power front disc brakes, rear spoiler, dash clock, pushbutton radio, Hurst shifter.
Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Uneven hood gaps. Driver's door sticks out at the bottom. Paint run behind the passenger's door. Another run in the middle of the driver's door and painted over cracks behind the driver's window. Dull brightwork, including faded AMC badges and de-plating on the rear bumper. Sound newer upholstery. Door panels have a slightly loose fit and a few cracks, as does the original dash. Chassis looks like it was undercoated at some point. Given restoration work commensurate with the car's value, but there is plenty to pick on.
Market commentary
There aren't a lot of Javelin SSTs out there to choose from, so buyers can't exactly be picky, but let's be real here. This is a '73 Javelin, and one that's far from perfect. The reported high bid should easily have seen the car off to a new home if there was money close to it.
