Equipment
2419cc/195hp, 5-speed, Cromodora wheels, Michelin XWX tires, ANSA exhaust, Momo leather-wrapped steering wheel, later cassette.
Condition
#4 Fair
Has visible flaws to the naked eye. Runs fine, but could use mechanical or cosmetic attention.
Sold new in Italy, went to Japan in 1978, and stored from 1990-2025 due to a snapped throttle cable. Originally finished in Giallo Fly but repainted white early on. The bumper chrome and plastic are rough. Windshield frame is pitted. Wheels are filthy. Tired paint with some cracks throughout, but there are lots of them on the driver’s door. Aged interior with dirt on top of the dash and a large rip in the outer bolster of the driver’s seat. A project Dino, no other way to put it.
Market commentary
There were two white Dinos in rough condition on offer in Monterey, this one and a '73 GTS down the road at Mecum. The Mecum car was in better shape, but more importantly it was the 1975 Cannonball Run winner, and that history explains why it sold for $660,000. This car, on the other hand, is a project without a good story, and such things are a tough sell lately. The price is a modest one, but it fell right within Bonhams' $200,000-$300,000 estimate range, so the seller probably isn't too disappointed.
