Equipment
2986cc/180hp, 4-speed, Michelin tires, power windows, woodrim steering wheel with a Triumph badge in the middle, factory air conditioning, Kenwood cassette.
Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Older repaint. Unrestored underneath. Filthy wheels and old tires. Windshield is delaminating at one edge. Paint cracking off the rear BMW badge. Mostly clean interior. Nothing against Triumphs but having a Triumph steering wheel on your BMW is a weird move. A scruffy but drivable E9.
Market commentary
E9 BMWs are understated, elegant coupes that are well-respected in BMW circles. They were rust-prone, however, so clean examples aren't common. This one isn't rusty, but it isn't clean, either, and it was a $52,500 no-sale at Broad Arrow's West Palm Beach sale last year. A low offer, but the one in Indy was plenty higher and should have been taken.
