Equipment

Generally acknowledged to be the 1971 Sebring winner driven by Vic Elford and Gerard Larrousse however there was some talk in 1999 about a chassis plate swap in its history and nothing was said here about any resolution. Highly original and in sound and usable condition. Recently featured in Classic & Sports Car.

Market commentary

Reportedly sold for $990,000 at RMs Monterey auction in 1999 although there may be later unreported private transactions. The dollars swoon is exaggerated when prices get this high and, with Christies commission, this would have seen a check of over $1.8 million written. The reported bid in Euros is reasonable and would have been, even after sellers commissions, a healthy increase in the cars value if it had been accepted ... so close to double as not to make much difference, which is pretty healthy in 4 1 2 years.
