Market commentary
The disappointing appearance of the engine leaves no small amount of doubt about how this 280SL has been treated and makes this, even for someone willing to undertake the needed work, a risky bet at this price. It would have been better bought for $45,000 than $65,000 but maybe the bidders hoped the 300SL/190SL euphoria will work its way down to the later SLs.
