Equipment
Body color wheels, hubcaps, Goodyear Polyglas GT tires, 3.23 Sure Grip axle, shaker scoop, bucket seats, console. Bought as a race car in 1970 then returned to original.
Condition
Showing 81 actual miles and represented as the lowest mileage 1970 Hemi Cuda known to exist. Shiny original paint with only a few minor chips on the quarter panels. The front bumper has a few scuffs. The engine bay and undercarriage are a bit dirty. The interior appears unused. Documented from new. Bought new and prepped as a drag car before the owner passed away. It's passed through several owners since, but was barely driven and remains unrestored. This car looks so good that it is hard to believe it is an original.
Market commentary
The seller was right to have sky-high expectations for this car, but just how sky-high is hard to guess. The $450,000 high bid was an astronomical number even for the most desirable 1970 Hemi Cuda in the world . That's a title that this car would be in contention for, but the seller could have still been very happy with the high bid. After it left Indy it went to the Leake auction in Tulsa as a private treaty sale, and it will probably continue to be trotted around getting far more miles with Reliable than it ever did on its own.
