Equipment

Originally powered by a 2 barrel 302 this Mustang has received the semi Eleanor treatment, with a 351 stroked to 383 cubic inches, instead of going the full Eleanor and stuffing in a big block. Edelbrock 4 barrel, intake, cam and lifters, prepared automatic, stiffened suspension, front air dam, 5 spoke Shelby style wheels, A C, P S, xenon headlights, column mounted tach, custom grille with little driving lights. 500 miles since it was done. No Reserve.

Market commentary

Bonhams offered this Eleanor Replica here a year ago. It was reportedly bid to 70,000 Euros before going unsold. The seller got more real this year and moved it on, but at great cost. It hammered sold for just 32,000 Euros, less than half the no sale bid a year ago. Even in US dollar terms and even though the Eleanor craze is way past its peak, this is modest result for a decent Eleanor. Your first loss is your least loss, and driving this in Europe is like wearing last years Armani.
