Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. First sold to Swaters as a 512S, upgraded to 512M for Alain deCadenet. Twice at Le Mans (5th in 1970, DNF in 1971. One win at Zolder in 1971 and the interesting 1971 Watkins Glen double header where it finished 4th in the 6 Hours and then 18th in the Can Am driven by deCadenet. Restored in the early 90s, well maintained and now thickly repainted in Francorchamps yellow.

Market commentary

This is a car that needs a good home. Its been sitting like some religious icon for years and needs to get a bunch of stickers and some track time. Not sold at +1,500,000 (the high bid in Fiorano) is one thing; not sold at the equivalent $1.8 million is another. On site results provided by Marcel Massini.
