Equipment
383/330hp, 4-speed, Polyglas tires, hood pins, pushbutton radio with 8-track, pistol grip shifter, center console, power steering and brakes, power top, newer sealed battery.
Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Lightly aged repaint, and the hood pins have been dragged across the finish a few times. The trim is scratched and hazed around windshield and top. The body sides are slightly wavy, and the hood doesn't close flush with the fenders. The top is clean but somewhat aged. The interior was well restored, including the gauges. The under hood was restored, but finishes are flaking off engine and it's now dirty and needs to be detailed at a minimum. The dual snorkel air filter is missing one heat shield and riser for warmup air. The other side was recently primered and installed. Underbody shows dust and cobwebs but looks to have been restored when the rest of the car was. A fair older restoration that's been used and is in driver condition.
Market commentary
The 383/330hp is a happy combination with the Challenger convertible's whippy frame and body but while this is a competent older restoration the consignor's failure to do more than a lick and a promise before bringing it to auction meant the bidders weren't that impressed, as this result indicates. Next time spend some time, money and elbow grease to cleaning it up and it should do better.
