Market commentary
If ever there was an argument for leaving an important car entirely original, this is it. A long hood 911 outfitted with the desirable S option package and a tangerine over black color scheme, this is as good as 1969 street Porsches get. Then someone repainted it. What follows the repainting of a very nice original car is the automotive equivalent of Diderots Red Dressing Gown: the new paint, just like an extravagant new gown, diminishes everything else by comparison. Before the repaint this car had patina. Now it has a thoroughly chipped undercarriage and a worn interior. At $101,200 its possible to find a 69 S where they didnt stop at the paint, unless it was Steve McQueens.
