Equipment
Ram Air III 400/335hp, 4-speed, Hurst shifter, power steering and brakes, 3:55 Safe-T-Track differential, Rally II wheels with Goodyear Polyglas tires, console, AM radio.
Condition
Good paint with some minor cracking below the rear window. The brightwork appears all new. The engine compartment and mechanicals are clean although it has seen light use and the engine numbers are nowhere to be seen. The underbody has been redone but could use a quick detail. The interior is well sorted and needs nothing. A pretty Trans Am with minimal use.
Market commentary
Sold at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale in 2010 for $108,900. The consignor here was hoping for a continuation of the Trans Am frenzy that gripped Scottsdale, but it didn't happen. Or maybe it was because this was the first year Trans Am, not the black Bandit kind. In any event the car is worth some, but not a lot, more than this and the owner can give it some more auction trips. It won't be a surprise to see it on the lawn at Mecum Monterey.
