Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

550hp 426 Hemi, 4 speed, cowl induction intake. Built by Cotton Owens and driven by Buddy Baker in the first 200+mph lap in a NASCAR race. Preserved in the Darlington museum until 2005, brought back to life by Owens himself but still as raced at Darlingotn and Charlotte in 1970. Vinyl and painted graphics, fair old paint, original interior thoroughly wrapped in rolls of vinyl electrical tape. The imitation vinyl roof covering of matte black spatter paint is a neat touch.

Market commentary

Exceptionally historic and well preserved, the buyer got a milestone race car for a fair price.
