Equipment
427 430hp, M21 4 speed, P B, pushbutton radio, heater, steel wheels, dog dish hubcaps, 4.1 Positraction, Firestone Wide Oval tires. Excellent clear coat paint, interior, chrome and glass. Restored to like new condition, sharp and crisp except for fine spray discoloration near battery on inner fender well. COPO 9561. Cowl tag appears to be original and painted over more than the stripped and refinished body and cowl. Rivets are new and unpainted. Very well documented through GM Canada where it was first delivered. No Reserve.
Market commentary
Sold by Bonhams at Quail Lodge in 2007 for $199,500 as part of the Wes Rhodes Collection and in essentially the same highly detailed and presentable condition as it was then. This much documentation on a COPO Camaro is highly unusual and the price is modest, possibly reflecting some reservations due to its history with Rhodes (who pled guilty to mail fraud in a multi million dollar investment scam.)
