Market commentary
The story behind this car is neat and verifiable but the replacement engine hampers its marketability among the serious Porsche collectors who are willing to pay mid six figures for important Stuttgart cars. The limited auction history of 911Rs indicates they are hard to place, or at least that the consignors have high expectations that aution bidders are reluctant to agree with. The bid reported here is reasonable enough for this cars engine, mileage and condition.
