Condition
#1 Concours
World-class. Could compete in the world’s best Concours d'Elegance events.
Very good paint and brightwork. The interior is fully restored with new upholstery. Light pitting on the steering wheel. Engine bay is fully restored and correct. This the very first Firebird, offered as a combo with car #2, Lot 1377.1. They were never separated and were restored together, as covered on the Discovery Channel. In essentially the same condition as its counterpart, meaning it’s gotten the treatment it deserves without succumbing to over-restoration.
Market commentary
These two were offered at Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas last year but not sold at a high bid of $300,000. It's a choice pair, but significant only to a diehard Firebird or first-of-its-kind collector. Vegas now looks like a missed opportunity.
