Equipment
425/385hp, automatic, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, AM/FM radio, dash clock, factory original floor mats, rear defogger, power windows, wheel covers.
Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Older amateur paint job with some filler lifting on the driver's sail panel, paint cracks in the rain gutters and some dirt in the paint. Re-chromed bumpers. Original brightwork needs cleaning up. Light rust underneath. Mostly original but tidy engine bay. Good, lightly worn interior. Reasonably well maintained for a 50-year-old car, but could certainly be better.
Market commentary
While a technical marvel in its day, the Toronado is still fairly underappreciated from a value standpoint. Even so, this flawed but decent example deserves a price that at least crosses into five figures, so the consignor was reasonable to refuse the reported high bid.
