Equipment
Centerlock wheels, aftermarket cassette stereo, woodrim steering wheel.
Condition
#3 Good
Runs and drives well. Flaws not noticeable to passersby. Most common condition.
Old paint with a few chips in the door jambs. The front bumper is tarnished and the headlight trim is dinged on the passenger's side. The driver's side mirror is missing. The stalk is still mounted, but the mirror is gone. The top is aged and wrinkled. The engine compartment is aged and grimy as well as the underbody. The differential is leaking on the exhaust. The seats have been redone while the rest of the interior is old and the gauge bezels are worn. Represented as a full restoration in storage for the last 15 years, but it saw plenty of use before being tucked away and wasn't done to particularly high standards to begin with
Market commentary
Series 1.5 E-Types are of course underappreciated compared to SI cars, and they weren't yet worth a whole lot when this car was restored and then used before going into hibernation. It needs another round of serious work, and the bidders were generous to even offer as much as they did. The reported high bid should have seen the car off to a new home.
