Equipment
Powered by its original 1900 cc in line four and fitted with an automatic transmission, rare for the day, this car had been sold in Seattle an was bought back by the dealer where it remained until a few years ago. Still had the factory protective plastic on the door panels though there were some tears near the door and window controls, no major sign of pedal or seat wear just the need for some detailing. Under the hood was clean and tidy, so simple back then, with only the expected surface rust on the exhaust manifold and minor oil fuel staining on the intake. 8,772 miles from new and in nearly showroom condition.
Market commentary
As the interest grows in early Japanese imports, their values will rise like the sun, but few choice examples like this survive, at same sale, an identical model with over 100,000 miles brought close to $5,000, so the time to get on the bandwagon for these econo imports would be now, I guess my sister in laws Datsun 510 wagon is now worth what she paid for it. This was a left over crazy price from around 2006, just looking for a car to land on. When last sold it was hammered at a stiff $16K in 2007, and everyone thought that was all the money. It looks like it wasnt even halfway home! This is probably the only one out there like this, so what it brought is what its worth.
