Equipment
289, 4-speed, quadruple Webers, Shelby 10-spoke alloy wheels, BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, lap belts.
Condition
The paint has a small crack on driver's front quarter panel, a small chip and crack on the passenger's side A-pillar and a crack on the passenger's side behind the window. Brightwork is good with slight dulling on window trim. The interior is in excellent condition. The finish is very rough around the top of the firewall. Underbody has some dirt but shows little wear. Formerly leased to Shelby American as a company car. Restored a while ago in its original colors and fully documented. Extra punch with the Weber carburetors, and a lot more entertaining to drive than the latter, fatter Shelbys.
Market commentary
Attractively restored some time ago, this car was viewed at Russo and Steele in Monterey in 2006 but never crossed the block. It seems to have turned no miles since then and the restoration could be freshened with thorough attention. Turning down the reported high bid does seem to ascribe unusually high value to the four-Weber setup, however.
