Equipment
289/200hp, 4-speed, Rally wheels, narrow whitewalls, luggage rack, beige vinyl boot cover, pony interior, Hurst shifter, factory radio, rally gauges, power steering, power top.
Condition
Very clean, freshly detailed and like new engine bay. Very good paint. Lightly scratched bumpers that fit erratically and are not flush with the body. Some pitting on the trim around the shifter, otherwise very good restored interior. Clear original gauges. Slightly uneven panel gaps. A neat well-optioned '66 convertible. '66 Mustangs are a dime a dozen, and while this one isn't the world's best and doesn't have the rarest equipment, it's got a desirable selection of options (other than the base two-barrel 289) and is more than good enough to be proud of.
Market commentary
Sold at Mecum Indy last year in the same condition with 11 fewer miles for $32,940, which was a spot on result. The higher result this time across the block was down to just a few more bids and is still a result that both parties can be satisfied with even if it's just a tad expensive.
