About Hagerty’s condition ratingsClose

One of 31 road-spec Mark I GT40s. Restored by Robert Ash with careful attention to preserving its originality, but surprisingly adding wider wheels, rear bodywork and changing the color. The original Borrani wire wheels are included. Very good paint and interior with a lightly scuffed driver's seatback bolster. Both doors have small edge chips, as does the engine cover. Engine and chassis are clean and fresh.

Market commentary

Offered at the Barrett-Jackson Exposition display at Scottsdale 1992 with no result known. It was bid to $2.9 million on the block but closed later at this all-in price, a good value for the new owner.
