The third 206S, sold to Maranello Concessionaires and raced with limited success by them even though it was driven by Michael Parkes, David Piper and Richard Attwood. then to Gustav Dieden and later Hans Wangstre in Sweden with comparable results but appearances at a number of estimable races including Targa Florio and ADAC 1000km. Restored in the late 80s with a new factory block but unused subsequently. Recently mechanically rebuilt and cosmetically redone to like new condition. Ferrari Classiche certified. Original cracked engine block included.
Market commentary
Sensuous and beautiful, a 330P in miniature, this is a wonderful Ferrari sports racer even if its race history is mostly composed of DNFs. Its combination of beauty and performance is a delight and its presentation is above reproach, as is the exceptional price it brought.
