Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

RHD. Yellow alloy wheels. Entered by NART at Monza, 3rd overall and 2nd in class at the Nurburgring 1000km (P. Rodriguez Ginther), SEFAC entry at Le Mans for NART but a DNF for Kolb Follmer. Then raced in the US including twice at Daytona and once at Sebring. Owned by Walt Medlin for many years, eventually bought and restored by Symbolic in 1995, freshened by Symbolic in 2003. Sharp, crisp and clean but not like new. Clear windows with delaminations blooming in the windshields lower left and center. Not the original engine, but still certified by Ferrari.

Market commentary

No sale at RM Monterey in 2005 for $2,000,000 although reportedly sold post block. The seller wasnt very enthusiastic about selling this beautiful little race car and it is not hard to see why. Rob Myers cut it loose at +1.6 million and it just kept going. For this much the seller has plenty of liquidity to assuage his sense of loss. For this much money the new owner better enjoy it a lot.
