Vehicle details

Notes and observations recorded by Hagerty staff.

Equipment

Originally Silver Black with factory fitted chrome roll bar. Damaged in shipping from the US to England and disassembled for restoration but not finished. Project includes original bodywork (with somewhat crumpled nose and missing right door), frame and lots of other stuff, including 6 Weber intake and plenty of interior bits. A reasonable project for the sincerely enthusiastic. 17.5% VAT due on hammer price. A.J. Lees and Company collection. $346,813 with VAT.

Market commentary

Alloy 275 GTBs are distinctly rare and highly sought, particularly with the 6 carb intake. This is a full price, but not unreasonable. Expect to see 08249 resurrected in all its glory in a couple years. Marcel Massini 2 6 04: The owner is Joel Humbert. A friend of mine in Beausoleil, France. I am supervising the restoration project for Humbert. We have already had the car inspected by Mr. Amadesi at the factory. The entire history of the car is known to us already. Build sheets are on the way to the owner.
